SA FONT FRESCA 58
Located in the picturesque village of Deià, within the Sierra Tramuntana in Mallorca, the unique two-bedroom vacation rental home is surrounded by majestic mountains and just a short walk from the Mediterranean Sea. The stonecladed façade, abundant greenery, and natural terrain call for a rustic design approach. Drawing elements of antiquity and modernism, the project would merge contrasting styles to bring the exterior into the interior.
The initial concept for the project was to create a calming, warm, and welcoming space. A space that draws in light, and is cozy in winter. To achieve this, tones and textures were considered first. Lighter colours found in natural stone paired with a soft tone in microcement would reflect the light from the exterior. Materials such as linens and aged oak would create a sense of comfort. The patina found in brass would add texture and emotion to the finishes around the space.
Using natural, locally sourced materials supports local artisans, whose craftsmanship is reflected in every detail of the space. Modern amenities and furniture enhance the contemporary design, while rustic elements create a balanced contrast. This fusion of styles evokes the essence of a modern-rustic home, embodying the artisanal character of the Tramuntana region.
